-Willem Kmetsch was a former enemy of Ebon Candle. The two of them both fought against each other during the final battle in the Poteau's War against the [[Emnetwihts]], with Willem coming out the victor. Although Willem was responsible for killing Ebon Candle and forcing him to go to sleep for over a hundred years to recover, Ebon Candle doesn't hold it against Willem. In fact, when the two meet again, Ebon Candle acts friendlier towards him, though Willem still gets irritated by him.
