这首歌是 D 调，节奏是 3 拍，很像慢三的舞曲。
整首曲子配器组成有钢琴/弦乐（小提琴/中提琴）/风笛，没有鼓。山田的声线温柔，就好像珂朵莉对威廉安静的依恋，让人想起珂朵莉在第七集中说“如果我不是一名妖精兵……”
这首歌的歌词就是为这部番量身订做的，完整的记录了珂朵莉从认识威廉到最后牺牲全过程的心境。摘几句：
